Ruby Jo (Hanes) Villarreal was born to Delbert Houston and Jacqueline Eva (Cook) Hanes on January 9, 1941 at Oklahoma City, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 29, 2013 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 20 days. Ruby grew up at Grandfield, OK, but finished her last few years of high school in Oklahoma City, graduating from Southeast High in 1959. She made her home in several towns through the years, including a time in Detroit, Michigan, were she owned a flower shop. She finished nursing school and became an LPN around 1982. She eventually settled at Walters in 1987. Ruby worked as an LPN at Temple Manor Nursing Home, Parkview Manor at Walters and at the Comanche Nursing Home before returning to Parkview at Walters. She also did home health care for Personal Touch Home Health in Walters. She enjoyed spending time on her Kindle, playing with the grandkids, fishing, dancing to oldies, watching the Food Network, going on nature drives through Sultan Park, and would never fail to call everyone on their birthday. She loved watching the kids and grandkids play sports. She enjoyed life. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jacquetta Hinds; and a brother, Delbert Houston Hanes, Jr. Survivors include 4 daughters, Jackie Hartman and husband Ricky of Walters, Patty Lewis of Walters, Kim Smith of Ponca City and Alesha Villarreal of Walters; 3 sisters, Loretta June of New York, Rebecca Ruth Masters of Loveland, CO and Nancy Sue Campbell of Norman, OK; 2 brothers, William Thomas Hanes of Aubrey, TX and Carl Preibe of Wichita Falls; 11 grandkids, Chris Wilson, Dustin McCasland, Cassidy Wilson, Kayla Kohout, Josh Moore, Dillon Kohout, Briah Lewis, Taylor Keesee, Trevor Hartman, Aaliyah Villarreal and Devon Laurenzana; 11 great grandkids, other relatives and many friends.
