Reeford Ray Darter was born to O.H. and Faith Elizabeth (Jamison) Darter on December 11, 1929 at Temple, OK and departed this life in Temple on December 28, 2013. Reeford grew up in the Taylor Store Community east of Randlett, OK. He attended Taylor School through the 8th grade then graduated from Temple High School in 1947. He married Peggy McCluskey on January 29, 1950 at Randlett. They made their home and farmed at Byers, TX, for the first two years then moved back to Taylor, continuing to farm at Byers and Taylor. After many years on the farm they moved to Temple in 2005 where they are members of First Baptist Church. Reeford served as an Ordained Deacon for many years. He enjoyed working in the garden, fishing in Colorado and enjoyed hunting as a kid. He also enjoy attending various schools through the years earning his insurance, realty and funeral director licenses. He was preceded in death his parents; a brother, Harold Darter; and a sister, Vennie Ruth Evans. Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of the home; 2 sons, Joe Mac Darter of Randlett, OK and David Kent Darter and wife Robin of Wichita Falls, TX; a daughter, Rebecca Rae Zielke and husband Russ of Balko, OK; 8 grandchildren, Bret Darter, Kelle Bush, Joe Ryan Darter, Melissa Hatcher, Carrie Darter, Sarah Underdown, Matthew Zielke and Hannah Zielke; 15 great grandchildren; 6 nephews, 2 nieces, other relatives and friends.
