Linda Y. (Claxton) Smith was born to Homer Don and Ruby Fern (Davis) Claxton on August 25, 1959 at Salem, OR and departed this life on December 25, 2013 in Walters, OK at the age of 54 years and 4 months. Coming from Oregon with her family at age 11, Linda finished school at Walters with the Class of 1977. On April 20, 1984, she married Charles E. "Chuck" Smith at Las Vegas, NV and to the union a son, Michael, was born. For 20 years Linda worked at Warehouse Foods in Temple, OK and in 1998 she became the manager of the Happy Stop Café in Walters. She enjoyed bossing people around and watching her soap operas. More than anything she loved her son and grandbaby. She was preceded by her husband Chuck on December 29, 1998; her parents, Don and Ruby; her grandparents, Mathie and Edith Claxton, Paul and Willie Davis; and a brother, Mike Claxton. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brittany Smith of Walters; her granddaughter, Kayden Smith of Walters; 3 sisters, Terry Rash of Duncan, OK, Eadie Murray of Nevada, Wanda Horton of California; 3 brothers, Homer Don Claxton, Jr. of Randlett, OK, Danny Claxton of California, and Garry Claxton of Oregon; several area nieces and nephews, Rianna Brown, Tiffany Coast, Dana Sudduth, Chelsea Nicolette, Rebecca Smith, Lynn Rash, Jody Rash, Jeffery Brown, Adam Smith, Cody Smith and Chase Eberhardt; numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
