Betty Jo (Smith) Sides Wilson was born to William Lawrence and Alma Mae (Foster) Smith on February 28, 1937, in rural Walters, OK and departed this life in Walters on December 12, 2013 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 14 days. Betty grew up in the Walters area. She married Marvin "Sonny" Sides on May 25, 1957 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home at Walters where they raised 5 children. Betty enjoyed reading and writing. Through the years she taught Sunday School, loved spending time in the word of God and was a prayer warrior for her children, grandchildren and all whom she treasured. On August 10, 1995, Betty married Arthur "Hop" Wilson, making their home in Branson, MO. They later returned to Walters due to illness, but their hearts remained in Branson. Hop preceded her in death on June 17, 2004. She was also preceded by her parents; 3 brothers, an infant brother Richard, Jimmy Smith and Donald Ray Smith; and a sister Doris Scaggs. Survivors include 5 children and spouses, Michael and Theresa Epp of Harvest, AL, Sherry and Bobby Nance of Walters, Bobby and Brenda Sides of Walters, Debbie and Donnie Blackburn of Anadarko and Jeff Sides of Walters; 3 sisters and spouses, Annie and Dale Wampler of Walters, Ellen Brown of Duncan, Bonnie and Glen McInnis of Houston, TX; a brother, Alfred Smith and wife Linda of Walters; 13 grandchildren, Shannon, Jeremy, Derek, Lauren, Patrick, Nick, Melissa, Casey, Emilee, Crystal, Courtney, Kristen and Lacy; 18 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
