Eva Juanita (Phillips) Youree was born on October 27, 1924, to James Floyd Phillips and Amy Eliza (Smith) Phillips and passed from this life on December 10, 2013 in Kentfield, California. Juanita's natural mother, Amy Phillips, passed away in a fire when Juanita was only a few years old. Her father, Floyd, later married Ethel (Batsell) Phillips, and Juanita was raised by Floyd and Ethel with their other children, Marilyn, Martha, James and Glenn. Juanita's father was a farmer, and she grew up on a farm near Walters, Oklahoma. Juanita married (Pervis) Earl Youree, of Hulen, Oklahoma, on March 20, 1942, at Wendover, Utah, while he was stationed at Wendover Air Force Base. While Earl, a B-17 bomber pilot, was station in England during World War II, Juanita lived in Walters with her grandmother. After the war, Juanita lived in Norman, Oklahoma, while Earl attended law school at the University of Oklahoma. Thereafter, they lived briefly in Sand Springs and Oklahoma City where Earl first practiced law. In 1952, Juanita and Earl moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma, where he set up a law practice with Judge Charles Watts and thereafter set up his private practice. During her years in Wagoner, Juanita was a member of The First United Methodist Church, participating in the Friendship Sunday School Class and Women's Missionary Society and also serving as a volunteer bookkeeper. She also was a member of PEO, Arts and Crafts Club, Wednesday Night Bridge Club, Wagoner Dance Club, Wagonmasters Square Dance Club, and in later years, the Twilight Twisters and Teacup Chain Square Dance Clubs. One of Juanita's greatest loves in life was dancing - any kind of dancing - from big band swing to waltz to two-step to square dancing. She always had a huge smile on her face when she danced, especially when she and Earl danced together. Juanita's creative side shone through in many ways, including her loving seamstress work in making her daughters' clothing and her many home cooked meals. Until Earl's death on July 11, 2006, Earl and Juanita lived in Wagoner, near their daughter, Karen, and Juanita continued to live in Wagoner until July, 2007, when she moved to Dallas, Texas, near her daughter, Shelly. Most recently, Juanita lived in Kentfield, California, near her daughter, Amy Earlene. Juanita is survived by her three daughters, Amy Earlene (Youree) Hogg of San Anselmo, California, Karen Anita Youree of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Shelly Ann Youree of Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California. Juanita has five grandchildren: Jeffrey Hogg and Christopher Hogg, children of Amy Earlene Hogg, and Heather Youree, Michael Saffari and David Saffari, children of Karen Anita Youree. Juanita is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Chloe Hogg, daughter of Christopher Hogg, Rennick Hogg, son of Jeffrey Hogg, and Audrianna Saffari, daughter of David Saffari. Also, Juanita is survived by her sisters, Marilyn (Phillips) Mallow of Walters, Oklahoma, and Martha (Phillips) Davis of Hesperia, California. Juanita's brothers, James Phillips and Glenn Phillips, predeceased her. In addition, Juanita is survived by nieces and nephews: Dianne Mallow Jackson, Greg Mallow, Mel Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Connie (Phillips) Harper, and Jerry Davis. Her nephew, Donnie Davis, predeceased her. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family. Juanita valued her many close friends from Wagoner with whom she laughed and played over the years.
