Elva Jean "Elvina" Permansu Potts was born December 31, 1932, to Benjamin and Clara Tooahnitpah Permansu at Walters, OK and departed this life on November 29, 2013, at Lawton, OK at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 29 days. Elvina grew up west of Walters and married Fred Lynn Potts on June 14, 1952 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home in Walters until moving to Fort Worth, TX from 1955-1965 and then returned to Walters. Fred preceded her in death July 9, 1994. She loved her lord and was attending the Church of the Nazarene at Walters until her health declined. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking, watching the Dallas Cowboys and OU football, going to the elderly center and attending Pow Wows. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Elvina was preceded in death by her husband, and infant son Larry Britt Potts, her parents, four brothers, Cecil, Herbert, Willington and Delbert Permansu; a sister, Martha Weryavah. Survivors include two sons, Kenny Potts of Walters and Monte Potts and wife Ronna of Elgin, OK; a daughter, Kim Patterson and husband Billy of Walters; a brother, Elton Permansu of Walters; a sister, Sue Morris and husband Tom of Tulsa; a sister-in-law, Alesia Permansu of Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Herr and husband Ernie, Kenneth Austin Ballard all of Walters, Monte Dee Potts, Jr. and Ah-Takee Brownielynn Potts both of Sterling, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Haleigh Paige Hull and Shooter Jaxon Herr both of Walters and Laylah Cozad of Sterling; other relatives and many friends.
