Ralph Frankie Valdez was born to Ralph and Daisy Jane (Tabbytosavit) Valdez on June 16, 1949 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on November 25, 2013 at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 9 days. Frankie grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1967. He married Linda Sue Crank on March 8, 1968 at First Baptist Church in Walters and he was soon drafted into the US Army. They have made their home in Walters where Frankie was employed at Cotton Electric for 37 years, retiring as line engineer. He coached peewee football, boxing, baseball, softball and played mens softball for many years. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and was an avid OU fan. He loved spending time with his grandkids and watching them play sports. Frankie served with Walters Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years, the Walters School Board for 5 years, the Walters City Council for 9 years during which he served as Mayor several terms, was a member of the Mason Lodge, was a Cotton Electric "Employee of the Year" and was involved with the building of Kidtopia. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Floyd Valdez and sisters Cindy Veach and Gladys Valdez. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; a son, Frankie John Valdez of Lawton; a daughter, Cheryl Hilliary and husband Michael of Medicine Park, OK; 2 brothers, Raymond Glenn Valdez of San Diego, CA and Tino Valdez of Amarillo, TX; 2 sisters, Nina Martin of Walters and Tina Jane Valdez and James Fannon of Walters; 5 grandchildren, John Valdez and Devin Valdez both of Cache, OK, Shawn, Hayden and Carter Hilliary of Medicine Park; many other relatives and friends.
