Ronnie Lee Teakell was born to James W and Ruby Lee (Foster) Teakell on January 23, 1950 at Walters, Oklahoma and departed this life November 7, 2013 at Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 63 years, 9 months and 15 days. Ronnie grew up at Walters and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably in Vietnam. Through the years he worked as a welder for Simpson Metal Sales (Diamond S Trailers), has held various positions in the oilfield and had ownership in P&T Oil Co. and Teakell Drilling. He has also cowboyed, farmed, did trucking and raced horses. He was a long time member of the Walters Roundup Club, serving 14 years on the Board of Directors. He enjoyed horses and hunting, but his family was most important to him. Ronnie married Amy Teague on August 15, 1986. He was employed by Goggins Consulting as an oilfield consultant when his health failed. He was preceded in death by his father, J W and his brother, Teddy. Survivors include his wife, Amy, of the home; three daughters, Jeanna Zangara of Grass Valley, CA, Penny Estes and husband Dave of Henrietta, TX, and Amanda Duke and husband Doug of Rush Springs, OK; his mother, Ruby Tate of Temple, OK; four brothers, Mike Teakell and Connie, Tery Teakell and Keenah, Tony Teakell and Valerie, and Marty Tate all of Walters; seven grandchildren, Blake, Katey, Warren, Addie, Dawson, Jacob, and Gentry; one great grandchild, Cayson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
