Randy Frank Hughes was born to Martha Lee (Powell) and William Hobert Hughes on July 29, 1952 at Walters, OK and departed this life at Comanche, OK on October 27, 2013 at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 28 days. Randy grew up on the Powell farm southwest of Walters. He entered the U.S. Navy serving his country honorably for 9 years. Upon his discharge, he returned to the farm for a time before making his home in Wichita Falls, TX where he worked in maintenance with the housing authority until moving back to Oklahoma in 1987. He has been employed at Halliburton for the past 19 years and has made his home in the Duncan and Comanche area where he has enjoyed life with his wife, Dianna Sue "Susie" Bates Hughes, whom he married at Lawton, OK, on August 8, 2005. He was a Veteran of Vietnam and was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and was a member of the Stephens County Honor Guard. Through the years Randy enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, playing on his tractor, barbequing, and playing practical jokes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Jack Powell; a sister, Sarah (Walker) Brooks; 2 brothers, William Walker and Michael Hughes. Survivors include his wife, Susie, of the home; 4 sons, Randy Gene Hughes and Wendy, Kip Hughes and Paige all of Holiday, TX, Daniel Cordova, Michael Cordova and Misty all of Austin, TX; 2 granddaughters, Lainey Hughes and Mia Cordova; his sister and brother-in-law, Charla (Myers) Brown and husband Johnny of Wichita Falls; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
