Sharon Ann Thurman

Sharon Ann (Kidd) Thurman was born to R J and Margaret Ellen (Watson) Kidd on March 1, 1950 at Walters, OK and departed this life at her home southwest of Walters on September 8, 2013 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 7 days. Sharon grew up at Walters where she attended all but 3rd grade at Grandview and 4th grade at Altus. She graduated from Walters High in 1968 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree at Cameron College in 1972. She married Gary Jack Thurman on June 5, 1971at First Baptist Church in Walters. She taught school for 29 years at Walters Elementary from 1972 to 2001. She was a member of Beaver Creek Cowboy Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking, was an avid reader, and enjoyed shopping and traveling with her sisters. Her real joy came from spending time and playing games with her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret Ellen and RJ; her paternal grandparents, Earl and Minnie Kidd; and maternal grandparents, Tom and Angie Watson. Survivors include her husband Gary Jack of the home; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Dustin and Bridget Thurman, Nic and Meg Thurman all of Walters; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Don Logan of Canton, OK, Mary and Stan Brown of Newalla, OK; 3 grandchildren, Katie Ann Thurman, Makenzie Nicole Thurman and Nathan Scott Thurman; 4 nieces, Kelli, Coffee, Kally and Kerry; a great niece Madison and 2 great nephews, Conner and Ethan; other relatives and many Friends.
