James William Kinder, Jr. was born to James William and Corinne Elizabeth "Trixie" (Uzzell) Kinder on August 15, 1934 at Manitou, OK and departed this life Friday, August 16, 2013 in Lawton, OK at the age of 79 years and 1 day. Jimmy grew up in the Cookietown area, graduating from Union Valley School in 1952. He attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater for a time before returning home to Farm. He also worked in the oilfield and ran his own dozer service before being drafted into the U.S. Army, serving 6 years total in the Army and Army Reserves. Jimmy married Gertrudie "Trudie" Zweiacker on March 22, 1957 at Grace Lutheran Church in Burkburnett, TX. They started their family while stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA for 2 years. They returned to the Cookietown/Ahpeatone area eventually building their current home in 1974. He was a member and served as Vice President for 10 years of St. John Lutheran Church in Lawton. He had served on the executive boards of the Western Wheat Associates, Oklahoma Wheat Commission, Oklahoma Rural Water Association, Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, Oklahoma Cattleman's Association, Walters Coop Elevator and the Federal Land Bank Association. He was an OSU Master Agronomist and was recently named Oklahoma Rural Water Association - Man of the Year. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Kinder. Survivors include his wife, Trudie, of the home; 3 children, James Wayne Kinder and wife Margaret Ann of Walters, OK, Tamela "Tammie" Brockert and husband Tom of Edmond, OK, Kevin Wade Kinder and wife Becky of Walters; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Travis and Sondra Kinder of Geronimo, OK, Gary and Donna Kinder of Kearney, NE, Jarvis and Phyllis Kinder of Walters; 7 grandchildren, Brad Kinder and wife Lorraine of Lakewood, WA, Bryson Kinder of Stillwater, Kody Kinder and wife Ashley of Walters, Garet Kinder of Walters, Landon Brockert of Edmond, OK, Kelsey Brockert of Edmond and Whitney Kinder of Walters; 1 great granddaughter, Aria Kinder of Lakewood, WA; many other relatives and friends.
