James Eugene Tunnessen was born September 3, 1926 in Dunmore, PA and departed this life in Lawton, OK on August 14, 2013 at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 11 days. Jim grew up in Hazelton, PA, the son of Joseph and Agnes Mary (Meister) Tunnessen. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps at Biloxi, MS before being transfered to Harrisburg, PA. In 1951 he married Shirley Mae Williams and to the union 2 sons, James and Keith, were born. He later married Quannadonna Thompson Jozefkowicz and they raised 3 children, Ima, Brent and Tommy. Jim had moved to Corpus Christi, TX in the early 1960's where he had ben hired to work as a machinist for Civil Service at the naval yard. The couple moved to Randlett, OK, upon Jim's retirement in 1973, and Quannadonna would later precede him in death in 1991. On February 14, 1992 he married Wendy Lynn (Bates) Thompson, and they were currently making their home in Walters. They enjoyed their time together as husband and wife as well as best friends. Jim was Roman Catholic by faith and was a member of the Free Masons. He was a Civil War buff, and he had a lifelong fascination with airplanes, enjoyed camping, watching westerns, and had a great singing voice. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Agnes Venters. Survivors include his wife of the home, Wendy; 4 sons, James Tunnessen of Florida, Keith Tunnessen of Pennsylvania, Brent Jozefkowicz of Fort Worth, TX and Tommy Jozefkowicz of Randlett, OK; a daughter, Ima Dessinger of Randlett; adopted daughter, Maria Roselle of Randlett; a cousin, Helen Meister of Hazelton, PA; 6 grandchildren, James, Matthew, Kale, Jacqueline, Nicholas and Kadonna; his God Granddaughter, Heather; several great grandchildren, numerous other relatives, and friends.
