Glenda June Brown

Glenda was born on December 27, 1948 at Temple, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK on July 6, 2013 at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 9 days. Glenda grew up in Walters the daughter of Jimmy Lavern "Jim" and Betty Louise (Glasgow) Calfy. She married Johnnie Richard Brown on July 4, 1966 at Henrietta, Texas. Through the years she worked as a cook at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, carried the paper for the Lawton Constitution and Walters Herald for 10 years, did childcare in her home and also did home care for various individuals in their homes. She was a member of Beaver Creek Cowboy Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching game shows and other programs on TV, going to the casino and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Betty Calfy. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Johnnie, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jason Hernandez of Duncan, OK; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Crystal Brown of Duncan; 2 sisters, Cindy Lee of Pittsburg, TX, Sandra Laughlin and husband Pete of Bossier City, LA; 3 brothers, Garlen "Jim" Calfy and wife Cathy of Ben Wheeler, TX, Steve Calfy and Clint Calfy both of Walters; 8 grandchildren, Austin, Kadie, Sheridyn, Kylan, Frankie John, Justin, Nathan, Tierney-Jade and 1 on the way; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
