Sally L. (O'Brien) Whan was born to Earl W. and Lillian V. (Christian) O'Brien on September 27, 1943 at Peoria, IL and departed this life near Randlett, OK on April 5, 2013 at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 9 days. Sally grew up in Peoria, IL, where she married Robert "Bob" Whan on May 23, 1964. As with many military families they moved around on several occasions, but have called Lawton/Ft. Sill home since 1972. She was a homemaker most of her life and lived life to the fullest. She loved watching NASCAR and the joy of her life was her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Earl W. O'Brien, Jr. and Richard E. O'Brien; and a granddaughter, Dusti Glenn. Survivors include her husband, Bob, of the home; 4 children, Kim Glenn and husband Doug of Cache, OK, Bobby Whan and wife Kimm, Billy Whan and Dana Millspaugh, Bryan Whan and wife Jo all of Lawton; 10 grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson and fiancé Cody Crabtree, Cody Johnson, Stephanie Stidham and fiancé Philip Sullivan, Justin Stidham and wife Brigette all of Cache, Megan Whan of Lawton, Brennan Whan, Sherydan Whan, Astre Whan, Robert Whan and Caitlyn Whan; 3 great grandchildren, Roper, Teegan and Raycee; 4 brothers and sisters, Barbara Benassi of Las Vegas, NV, Jay O'Brien of Canton, IL, Peggy Suebert of East Peoria, IL, and Pat O'Brien of Lawton, OK; many nieces and nephews; her long time best friend, Linda Carol Carter and husband Bill; other relatives and many friends.
