Freida Mae Taunah was born to Frederick Lee and Winnifred Bointy Satepeahtaw at Carnegie, Oklahoma, May 29, 1926 and departed this life at Lawton, Oklahoma, March 23, 2013 at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 23 days. Freida married Leon Taunah on March 20, 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX. Leon was a golden gloves boxer, rancher, and oil and land broker. Freida was a cosmetologist, care provider and ran the Taunah family farms and the Taunah oil well businesses. She was a descendent of Red Tepee and spoke fluent Kiowa and had a great knowledge of the traditions of the Kiowa Tribe. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Malcom, Laverne and Marvin Satepeahtaw; and a sister, Juanita Big Bow. Survivors include her two sons, Lebert Taunah of Lawton, OK and Malcom Clarence Taunah of Geronimo, OK; a sister, Fustina Norman of Walters; a grandson, Leon Taunah and companion Donna Hannen; two great grandsons, Caleb and Nathan Taunah; two great granddaughters, Shyanne and Olivia Taunah; her extended family, Cindy Fogel and children, grandsons Robert Leonard Fogel and wife Naomi, Brandon Fogel; granddaughters Kayla Grieve and husband Anthony, Francesca Taunah-Mielke and husband James; great grandsons, Gabriel-Ubaldo Lee Taunah-Milke, Shaun Michael Fogel, Nicholas Fogel, Colin Donnelly, Jason Blalock and Hayden Fogel; great granddaughters; Ava Fogel and Adalyn Grieve; Special family, Sister-in-law Pat Satepeahtah; nieces Freida Kay Bailey and husband Paul, Debbie Davis and husband Dwayne; many other relatives and friends.
