Donald Edward Pflueger was born to Neil Edward and Elaine Delores (Heira) Pflueger on September 9, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 21, 2013 at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 12 days. Don grew up in Millstadt, IL, and graduated from Belleville West High School in 1975. He soon chose to join the U.S. Army and served his country honorably in a 22 year career, retiring as a MSG in 1997. He had married Lois Kay McCaig on January 20, 1981 at Wichita Falls, TX. During his military career the family moved to Germany, Fort Lewis, WA, Fort Campbell, KY, all the while moving back and forth to Fort Sill. Don was also stationed in Korea three times. In April of 1999 Don went to work at the Wackenhut Correction Facility, now known as Geo Lawton Correction Facility. Through the years there he has been employed in the mail room, then as an IT Tech and a later a teacher of computers before returning to his current position as IT Tech. He of course enjoyed computers, playing the guitar, flying RC planes, working on older cars and loved his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Lois, of the home; a son, Donald Keith Pflueger and wife Sharvaley of Lawton; 2 daughters, Kimberly Gill and husband David, and Melissa Dawn Jones all of Lawton, OK; 7 grandchildren, Cristian, Jonathan and Sebastian Pflueger, Zachary, Jesse James and Wyatt Gill, and Elizabeth Jones; 2 brothers, William Pflueger and wife Ingrid of Belleville, IL, and Ronald Pflueger of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Peggy Geils of Woodstock, GA; other relatives and many friends.
