Jerry Knight was born to Guy and Doris Virginia (Pylant) Knight on June 27, 1948 at Houston, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on February 23, 2013 at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 27 days. Jerry grew up at Lawton, graduating from Lawton High in 1967. He went to work for Goodyear Tire at the opening of the Lawton plant, staying with the company for 23 years. He also owned and operated Guy's Body Shop for a number of years. He married Nita Krasser on March 5, 1982 at Chattanooga, OK and they made their home at Lawton. As a young man Jerry served his country honorably in the Army Reserve. He was a member of Cameron Baptist Church where he and Nita were involved in the Adult II Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Lawton Area Fun Flyer Society. Jerry enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley, and he and Nita enjoyed numerous trips around the world. He also enjoyed having fun with the grandkids and his dog Addy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kent Knight; and a brother -in-law, Eddie Fisher. Survivors include his wife Nita of the home; 2 daughters, Cheryl Crow of Yukon, OK and her fiancé Kelly Flowers, Lorie Ross and husband David of Cache, OK; a son-in-law, Steve Crow of Oklahoma City; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Crow of Moore, OK, Brandi Crew of Walters and Hollie Winslett of Cache, OK; 5 brothers and their spouses, Frank and Sue Knight, Steve and Sherry Knight all of Lawton, Greg and Marsha Knight of Mustang, OK, Tom Knight and Mike Knight both of Lawton; a sister and her husband, Karen and Joe Cunningham of Lawton; other relatives and many friends.
