Opal Pearl Allen

Opal Pearl (Harper) Allen was born to James Madison and Lilly Jane (Sims) Harper on December 3, 1929 at Hastings, OK and departed this life January, 18, 2013 at Temple, OK at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 15 days. Opal grew up in rural Temple, attending Pleasant Ridge Elementary and graduating from Temple High in 1948. She married Robert Allen and enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2000. Through the years she had worked at the Haggar slacks factory for a time and owned a snack shop in Temple for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and cherished her friends in her Sunday School class. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in activities, and loved going to coffee with her friends at the Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; and three brothers, Roy, Daniel and Cecil Harper. Survivors include 3 daughters, Dana and husband Steve Mc Ilhaney, Gayla Allen and Glinda Allen all of Temple, OK; A granddaughter, Luci Paris and husband Michael and children Brice, Millicent and Phillip all of Wichita Falls; a grandson, Rob McIlhaney and wife Wendy and children Max and Maddox all of Wichita Falls; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Harper of Nocona, TX; several nieces, other relatives and many friends.
