Fred Anderson "F.A." Simmons, Jr. was born to Fred Anderson and Mae Kathryn (Burton) Simmons on August 26, 1916 on the family farm near Randlett, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on January 8, 2013 at the age of 96 years, 4 months and 13 days. F.A. started school at Bird Creek rural school where his mother had once taught. The family later moved near Temple where he attended Donley rural school and then onto Temple High School. After high school he remained engaged in farming on the family farm where he also cared for his father until his death. F.A. was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Hale. He is survived by a son, Johnny Chambers and wife Donna of Wichita Falls; a sister, Evelyn Davis of Wichita Falls; a granddaughter, Jetta Chambers and her children, Mason and Max all of Wichita Falls; 2 step-grandchildren, Scotty Ray Kyle and wife Melinda and children, Nikole Raye and Marissa Kay all of Wichita Falls, and Rebecca Kyle and children, Cody, Autumn Sue and Daren all of Wichita Falls; a niece, Shirley Lewis of Tyler, TX; other relatives and friends.
