David Allen Daniel was born July 2, 1962 in Lawton, OK to Donald and Claudette Daniel and departed this life in Walters, OK on December 13, 2012 at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 11 days. David grew up at Walters where he was a starting tackle on the District Champion Blue Devil football team and graduated from WHS in 1980. He married Carla Sue Groschick in July of 1982 and to the union a son, Tyler, was born. David was enrolled in Vo-Tech Carpentry during his high school year. He was employed by the Walters Lumber Yard before graduation and as a carpenter afterwards. Through the years he was employed as a welder, roughneck, interior decorator and home remodeler, and a HUD inspector for manufactured homes. He was also a great auto Mechanic, a trade in which he learned from his father. His grandmother taught him to cook at a very young age and fostered his love of cooking. He loved to read and mastered many other trades. David enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and being in the great outdoors. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. David had a great love for family and friends. He was shot four times during an attempt to save his father's life in 2006. Lead poisoning and mental health issues followed the event and plagued him until his death. He is survived by his mother, Claudette Daniel and husband Bob Whitney of Walters; a son, Tyler Daniel of Clinton, OK; 2 brothers, Wayne Daniel and wife Tonya of Temple, OK and Daryl Daniel of Granite; a sister, D'Anna Laminack and husband Corey; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Daniel and all of his dearly beloved grandparents, Claud and Olga Daniel, Lelon and Jessie Daniel.
