George Mack (Pops) Stanphill was born to Arvil E. and Eliza Beth (Weaver) Stanphill on October 27, 1936 at Duncan, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK, on December 12, 2012 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 15 days. Mack grew up at Duncan, graduating from Duncan High School. He married Vivian Aileen Suson on March 17, 1964 and to the union 3 children were born. The family settled in the Dallas area and Mack worked as a butcher for 30 years, most of which were with Harris Food Store in Oak Cliff. He eventually moved back to Southwest Oklahoma making his home in Walters. Mack enjoyed fishing and painting. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin siblings, Marvin and Marla; a brother, Ray Stanphill; and sisters, Juanita Thompson and Mabel Austin. Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Halford of Dean, TX and Dana Spaulding of Walters, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Michelle Stanphill of Irving, TX; 8 grandchildren, Cody, Colt, Brooke, Logan, Mason, Ashly and husband Rus, Ethan and Bethany; 4 great grandchildren, Dakota, Shane, Jordan and Camden; and lots of other family and friends.
