Rose Ellen (Durbin) Latschar was born to Frederick Henry and Zelma Marie (Calfy) Durbin on March 3, 1933, Walters, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK, on November 22, 2012 at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 19 days. Rose grew up at Walters and attended Walters Schools. She married Donald Lichti in July of 1950 at Walters. She later married Howard Latschar in April of 1978 at Deer Creek, OK. She was a member of the Deer Creek Sew and So Club, the Lions Club and Elks Club. Rose was a wonderful mother, and when it came to being a grandmother and great grandmother she was the best. She spent her lifetime putting other people first. She always made each of us feel like we were her favorite and loved us unconditionally. She believed in the Ten Commandments and the power of prayer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Latschar; her parents, Fred and Zelma; brothers, Freddie and Sammy Durbin; sisters, Jessie Mae Webb and Judith Hill. Survivors include 2 daughters, Debi Burt and her husband R.A. Burt of Lawton, Ladonna Heflin and husband Dr. James L. Heflin of Lawton; 9 grandchildren, Damian Garcia and wife Lisa of Lawton, Anitra Gardner and husband Jerry of Wylie, TX, d'Andrea Garcia of Lawton, Nickolas Conrady and Vanessa Rivers of Lawton, Andrew Conrady and Dominique Alexander of Lawton, Bethany Scarfone and husband Chuck of Chattanooga, Krissy Mejia of Norman, Kimmy Breckenridge and husband Tyler of Lawton, and Austin Heflin of Lawton; great grandchildren, Kaden and Kyler Gardner, Gage Garcia, Cameron Conrady, Jaxon Conrady, Angel and Kevin Alexander, Brenden, Adam, Ian, Matthew and Andrew Scarfone, Vanessa and Nathan Mejia, Krysta Shurburn and Elyse and Gunnar Breckenride; 3 great granddaughters due within the next five months, Baby Garcie, Baby Conrady, and Baby Scarfone; 2 special nieces she raised, Spring Johnson, her husband Doug (children Dylan and Alysa) and Dr. Brooke Esteves all of Tulsa; 2 sisters, Molly Womack and Carmen Esteves both of Cache, OK; 3 brothers, Walt and Larry Durbin both of Temple, OK, Terry Durbin and wife Linda of Walters; many nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
