Emma Glennell Berry

Emma Glennell (Maryfield) Berry was born to Louie and Berdie Era (Whitworth) Maryfield on February 27, 1919 at Quinlan, TX and departed this life in Lawton, OK on November 20, 2012 at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 24 days. Nell grew up between Quinlan and Terrell, TX, attending high school in Quinlan. She moved to Oklahoma in 1947 and soon married John Ava Berry on June 10, 1947. They made their home on West Cache Creek southwest of Walters until moving to town in 1970. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Walters. She enjoyed visiting with people, working outside, gardening, and loved Hereford cattle. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; 6 brothers and sisters; and 2 daughters, Quida Kay Shelton and Johnnie Renee Stuart. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra M. Montayne of Walters, OK; 5 grandchildren, Juretta Kay, Brandon, Hannah, Laura Grace and Carrie Ann; 8 great grandchildren, Noah, Charlie, Sabrea, Logan, Nolan, Garrett, Skylor, and Jocelyn.
