Otho Leonard Dilks was born to Eolie Earl and Ledonia Blanche (Cochran) Dilks on October 18, 1927 north of Temple, OK and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX on September 14, 2012 at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 27 days. Otho grew up at Temple attending Pioneer and Essequanahdale Schools before graduating from Temple High in 1947 where he excelled in football, basketball and Track. He then went to work for Cotton Electric but was soon drafted into the U.S Army, serving his country honorably while stationed in Japan for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Along with farming, Otho also took a job with Bridwell oil Company working 17 years. From 1969 to 1983 he worked for Sun Oil Company and has since continued farming. He married Elizabeth Baker on June 22, 1949 at Burkburnett, TX and to the union 2 children were born. He joined the Masonic Lodge at Temple in 1955 and is currently a member of the Cache Valley Lodge in Walters. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and American Angus Association and is a member of First Baptist Church in Temple. He and his wife have enjoyed going to rodeos and regularly attended the National Finals Rodeo for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers and sisters, Clorice Barnett, Jean Powell, Billy Dilks and Donnie Dilks. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Ebby" of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Donna Dilks of Cookietown, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Randy Brown of Iowa Park, TX; 6 siblings and spouse, Darrell and Ernestine Dilks of Guthrie, Merrill of Bentonville, AR, Charles and Glenna Dilks of Warner Robins, GA, Doris Kay and Doyal Humphries of Bloomfield, NM, Ann and Bob Cable of Fletcher, OK, Judy and Walter Butler of Dixon, CA; 4 grandkids, Johnna Vest and husband Brannon of Wichita Falls, Stephanie Dilks of Cache, OK, Stephen Lynn Dilks and wife Carrie of Cookietown, OK, Shane Dilks and wife Kathryn of Duncan; 2 great grandkids, Braxton Vest and Easton Dilks; other relatives and many friends.
