Jenice Poemoceah, 65, of Walters, OK Funeral Services at the Comanche Nation Community Center, Tuesday, September 11 at 1:00 p.m., under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters with burial in the Walters Cemetery. See Online guestbook at www.hart-wyattfuneralhome.com Maurine Jenice Poemoceah was born to Silcott and Sarah Mable (Wahahrockah) Poemoceah on March 26, 1947 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on September 7, 2012 at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 12 days. Jenice was raised and lived most of her life southeast of Walters. After high school she attended Oklahoma State Tech at Okmulgee. Through the years she enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Canada attending church revivals and camp meetings, ministering for her Lord. She also enjoyed puzzles, movies, going to the casino and spending time with the grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kelly Poemoceah; a sister, Jenell Poemoceah; and her grandparents, Oliver and Birdie Poemoceah, Mary Poemoceah, Hernasy and Wahahrockah She is survived by the children she helped raise, Fred Fodder of Walters, Fred Codynah, Pamela Codynah, Tanya Codynah, Monta Rene Mammerdaty all of Lawton; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Arlene and Henry Wells of Lawton, Michelle and Amos Harjo, Jr. of Cyril; 13 grandchildren, Tory, Andrea, Chelsey, Kelly, Tristan, Isabella, Kanya, Kiley, Kelsey, Sonny Rose, Solomon, Sarah, Samuel; 4 great grandchildren, Kasiin, Garrett, Kaiden and Kanarra; nieces and nephews, Todd Harjo, April Turner, Shannon Mehringer, other family members and friends.
