Jesse Wayne Fannon was born to Jesse James and Lois Marie (McMurtry) Fannon on September 23, 1949 at Clovis, NM and departed this life in Lawton, OK on August 30, 2012, at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 7 days. Jessie grew up at Walters where he has made his home all but for a time in Eastern Oklahoma. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army with 3 tours to Vietnam, receiving numerous medals and commendations. Through the years he has worked with seismograph and surveying in the oilfield, and also built barns and did roofing. He enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads, gun target practice, scuba diving and tinkering with stuff. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Kassie Marie Khanlar Griffin. He is survived by 2 daughters, Elizabeth Griffin and husband Martin of Iowa Park, TX, and Brittnie Fannon of Lawton, OK; a son, James Houston Fannon of Charles City, Iowa; his companion, Debra Pittman of Walters, OK; 2 brothers, Mack Edward Fannon and James Earl Fannon both of Walters; 5 sisters, Alice Jean Fielding of Comanche, OK, Louise Marie Lambert of Walters, Darla Mae Dryden of Chandler, OK, Charlotte Fay Romero and Linda Kay Gatlin both of Walters; 2 stepchildren, Michael and Mary Pittman both of Walters; 6 grandchildren, Tristan William Griffin, Dallas Preston Griffin, Madilynn Aurora Eldridge, Faith and Saige Fannon, and John Allen Pittman; many many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
