Mary Loretta Griffin

Mary Loretta (McKee) Griffin was born August 27, 1920, near Walters, OK to Walter C. and Maggie (Allen) McKee and departed this life at Stonewall, OK on July 14, 2012 at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 17 days. Mary grew up in Cotton County. She married Alvis I. "Shorty" Griffin on June 4, 1938 at St. Joe, Texas where they made their home until moving to California, settling in the Kings County Area. They returned home to Walters in 1976. Mary was a homemaker but also enjoyed being a mechanic among other things. She was Christian lady and was known as a good cook, including wild game, and enjoyed gardening and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 16, 1978; a son, Kenneth Joe Griffin; a grandson, Joe T. Griffin; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, W.A. Griffin and Patty, Chester and Ellen Griffin all of Stonewall, OK; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Rosie Griffin of Walters, Marie Mello of Hanford, CA, Peggy and Jack Pearson of Hat Creek, CA; 12 grandchildren, Rhonda Nolen, Loretta Smith, Robert Griffin, Ronnie Barnes, Eddie Barnes, Terry Barnes, Laura Vaz, Mandy Castanon, Lisa Zaech, Jennifer Pearson, Billy Griffin, and Craig Griffin; 19 great grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
