Billie Overton Driskill

Billie Overton Driskill was born southwest of Temple, OK on April 28, 1928 and departed this life in Lawton, OK on July 12, 2012 at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 14 days. Billie, the daughter of Margaret Marie "Maggie" Overton, grew up at Temple in the home of her grandparents. After graduating from THS she married James Edward Driskill on July 5, 1947 at Temple and they soon moved to Lawton. Billie had a 46 year career with Sears which had begun in Temple and included both the 11th Street and Central Mall locations in Lawton. She was preceded in death by 4 children in the womb and later by James in 1996. She continued living in Lawton where she became a faithful nursery worker at Olivet Baptist Church. For the past 5 years has made her home east of Walters and was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple. Billie enjoyed canning, knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, working with stained glass and doing crafts in general. She is survived by Kenneth and Pat Driskill, Phil and Janice Shaw, Jack and Kathy Castle, Grant Castle, Jay and Ellen Driskill, Carly Driskill, Chris and Terry White, Lana and Greg Spake, as well as a very special friend, Pearl Riddle.
