Virgie Lucille (Doake) King Young was born to George Washington and Alice Myrtle (Perryman) Doake on November 25, 1931 at Wilson, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on June 27, 2012 at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 2 days. Virgie grew up in the Ahpeatone Community west of Walters. She has mainly made her home in the Meers, Walters and Temple areas of Southwest Oklahoma. She married Raymond Lewmul King on July 5, 1947 at Wichita Falls, TX. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1992. Along with being a homemaker, Virgie also worked as a nurse's aid in both the Temple and Walters nursing homes and did so home care. She also worked at the Hagger Slacks factory in Temple for a few years. She married C.W. "Bill" Young on July 16, 1993 at Walters. They were making their home in Temple at the time of Bill's death on August 9, 2008. Virgie was a Christian and enjoyed attending several area churches. She also enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, going to ballgames and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 4 brothers and 2 sisters; a step-daughter, Shirley Fletcher; and a grandson, Wendell Dean King. Survivors include 3 daughters and their husbands, Nadine and Jim Wilson of Oklahoma City, Stacy and Fred Couture of Lawton, Kristi and Bryan Muirhead of Devol; 3 sons and their wives, Jerry and Sherree King of Kingston, OK, Larry and Vicki King of Mart, TX, Jimmy and Ann King of Walters; a sister, Lavern Williams of Tulsa, OK; 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; she is also survived by Bill's children and many grandchildren.
