Robert Leonard Carroll, Jr. was born June 12, 1946 at Lewisville, TX to Robert Leonard and Betty Lou (Hill) Carroll and departed this life in Walters, OK on June 18, 2012 at the age of 66 years and 6 days. Robert grew up at Temple, graduating from THS in 1964. While in school he worked at a grocery store and at Jeff Clingman's gas station. He married Joanne Norton on June 4, 1965 at Temple. Robert entered the U.S. Air Force on September 14, 1966, serving honorably in Vietnam until his discharge on April 13, 1970. The family made their home in Oklahoma City until 1976 when they moved to Edmond. He worked 30 plus years at OG&E and has since contracted with S & E Electric. He was preceded in death by his father and also his wife, Joanne, in January of 2006. He later married Shirley Linderkamp on November 11, 2008 at Lawton, OK, making their home in Walters. Robert enjoyed going to church and was a member of the Church of Christ. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with the grandkids, watching NASCAR and tinkering with things. He is survived by his mother Betty Carroll Martin of Edmond, OK; his wife, Shirley, of the home; 2 daughters, Sandy Jo Roberts and husband Gregory of Amarillo, TX, Kathy Dyann Bell and husband Dominic of Oklahoma City; a step daughter, Shelly Sehrt and husband Dieter of Walters; a step son, John Linderkamp and wife Patra of Walters; 2 sisters, Vikki Clingman and husband Terry of Edmond, Cassie Knight and husband Wade of Tiger Town, TX; a brother, Jim Carroll of Paris, TX; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey "Dalton", Cameron, Cheyenne, Blake, Travis, J.T., Jonathan, Alexandra, Kenzie, and Bouchee; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
