Effie Lois James

Effie Lois (McGee) James was born to George Lester "Les" and Meta Kathleen (Chambers) McGee on March 26, 1924 east of Temple, OK and departed this life in Decatur, TX on May 27, 2012 at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 1 day. Effie Lois grew up at Temple. She married Harold James on October 31, 1940 at Walters. They made their home in Dallas where she worked for Hydrotex Industries and later owned Sawyer Shoe Store in Dallas. They returned to Temple in 1995 and he passed away in 1997. Through the years she enjoyed shopping and decorating her home. Do to ill health she moved to Decatur in 2010 to be near her daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Sr.; a daughter, Carol Ann Heidrich in 1993; a sister, Erpha Knapp; and a brother, Cecil McGee. She is survived by a son, Harold "Pete" James, Jr. of Nocona, TX; a daughter, Rebecca Sue Ragan and husband Jimmy of Decatur, TX; 3 brothers, Louis McGee, Jack McGee and Don McGee and wife Joyce all of Temple; a sister, Noma Jennings of Lawton, OK; 4 grandchildren, Rick James of Nocona, Kevin Heidrich of Royce City, TX, Kathy Lewis of Mansfield, TX and Brice Ragan of Hurst, TX; 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
