Winnie Jean Thompson, age 99, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2012 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was born in Walters on November 15, 1912 to pioneer Oklahomans William Henry Krisher and Hannah C. (Rilla) Krisher. Winnie and Don together built a successful construction business, were members of the First Christian Church where she especially enjoyed her missionary work, and later traveled together when Don worked as a catastrophe insurance adjuster. Winnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Benjamin Thompson, to whom she was married in 1933, and her ten siblings, Irwin, Sherman, Harriett, John, Russell, Daisy, Ubert, Theodore, Henry and Lucille. Winnie is survived by her daughter, Anita Krisher Thompson of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and her children, John Bateman and wife, Winona, Anna Bateman and husband, Dennis O'Donnell, Sarah Bateman-Twocrow and husband, Jim, Alan Bateman and Mary Bateman; son Charles Ray Thompson and wife, Marilyn, and his children, Gregory Thompson and wife Patricia, Elizabeth Alley and husband, Pete, step-grandchildren Marlin Fietz and wife, Jayne, Lesa Fietz and husband, Myron Tichenor, Lesley Miller and husband, Xavier. She is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; her beloved nieces Jeannine Aust, Gail Woodard and husband, Audie, JoAnna Hopkins, Janice McCoy, and Sherry Kirk and husband, Charlie; nephews, David Ewing and wife, Joy, and Michael Thompson and wife, Dee Dee; her beloved and long-time friend Barbara Lashley; Many other family members and friends.
