Bertha Delpha Bessemer

Bertha Delpha (Taylor) Bessemer was born to Ernest and Cora (Stone) Taylor on March 27, 1923 in the Ahpeatone Community west of Walters, OK and departed this life at Valley View, TX on May 13, 2012 at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 16 days. Bertha grew up in the Ahpeatone Community graduating from AHS. She married Ernest Godfrey Bessemer on July 20, 1940 and they made their home at Ahpeatone where they were engaged in farming and custom harvesting. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Frederick, OK, teaching 5th and 6th grade boys in Sunday school. In 1987 they moved to Walters, joining First Baptist Church. She enjoyed hand work, canning, traveling and being a truck driver during harvest for Ernest. She was preceded by her parents; her husband Ernest in 2008; 2 brothers, JD Taylor and ER Taylor; 3 sisters, Fern Wilson, Beulah Littrell and Ella Van Landingham. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Charles Shelly of Valley View, TX; a granddaughter, Christy Coats and husband Mark of Sanger, TX; a grandson, Chris Shelly and fiancé, Krista Mozingo of Denton, TX; a great grandson, Devon Mozingo; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
