Gary Gene Ledford was born to Cortez "Ted" and Martha Lue (Pullen) Ledford on October 10, 1948 at Lawton, OK and departed this life April 07, 2012 in Walters, OK at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 28 days. Gary grew up at Fletcher, graduating from Fletcher High School in 1966. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Cameron University and his Master's Degree in School Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He married Linda Sue Brock on July 19, 1968 at First Baptist Church in Fletcher. Gary began his career at Temple High School as a coach and principal, then served mostly as superintendent or principal at Sentinel, Ft. Supply, Fletcher and finally settling at Walters in 1991. He retired after 30 years in education. He then worked a couple of years at Four Seasons Sports Stuff and also drove a school bus for several years. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Walters, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and he wanted God to be given the glory through his illness. He enjoyed golf and also enjoyed spending time fishing with his son, Kris, when he was younger. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandkids and watching them play ball. He loved to laugh and enjoyed making others laugh as well. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Ledford. Survivors include his mother, Martha Lue Ledford of Fletcher; his wife, Linda, of the home; his son and daughter-in-Law, Kris and Donia Ledford of Oologah, OK; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Kevin King of Walters; his sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and David Nease of Central High; 4 grandchildren, Hannah and Brady Ledford, Ely and Rainey Lue King; other relatives and many friends.
