Florence Leona Jones

Florence Leona (Lee) Jones was born to Henry Clyde and Lena Bell (Fletcher) Lee on April 22, 1926 northeast of Walters and departed this life in Temple, OK on March 13, 2012 at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 20 days. Florence grew up east of Walters in the Valley View Community. She married Rhew J. Jones on November 20, 1943 at Walters. She was a homemaker and for a time also worked at Armstrong's 5 & 10. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church in Walters. Through the years she worked with the Cub Scouts and was involved with the first March of Dimes in Walters. She enjoyed reading books, watching westerns on TV, traveling and camping, spending time in South Texas. She is preceded in death by her infant twin girls, Lana and Jana in 1953; her husband, Rhew J., in March of 1995; an infant great grandson, Landry Patman in December of 1995; a brother Billy Jack Lee in January of 2012. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Sue Jones of Whitesboro, TX; a daughter, Wilma Gilliam of Walters; a sister Peggy Klein Fletcher and husband Richard of Walters; a sister-in-law, Peggy Lee of Walters; 4 grandchildren and spouses, Rodney Gilliam of Sayre, OK, Stacy and Dan Dodd of Walters, Jones J. and Christin Jones of Kingston, OK, Carrie and John Bitros of Whitesboro, TX; 6 great grandchildren, Luke Patman, Caleb Patman, Mariah Johnes, Kylee Jones, Rhew J. Jones and Clara Bitros; other relatives and many friends.
