Alexander Ramsey Jarrett, III was born to Alexander Ramsey Jarrett, II and Claire (Patterson) Jarrett on May 18, 1919 at DeLeon, Texas and departed this life on January 23, 2012 at Fort Collins, CO at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 5 days. Alex grew up in Temple, Oklahoma and attended Temple Public Schools. Later, he attended Cameron College in Lawton, OK, Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, NM and graduated in 1942 from the University of Denver, in Denver, CO. Following graduation he worked for the IRS in Fort Collins, CO. Later, he worked for Forney Corporation in Fort Collins for a number of years. At the time of his retirement, he worked for Colorado State University. Alex was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Collins, receiving his six year membership pin shortly before his death. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Fort Collins for many years. From the time he was in high school until 1992, Alex's hobby was golf, which he continued to play after developing Macular Degeneration. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Ramsey Jarrett, Sr. and Claire Modesta Jarrett; a sister, Charlotte Jarrett Hogg. Survivors include a brother, Robert P. "Pat" Jarrett of Indianapolis, IN; 2 nieces, Carmen Hogg Richardson of San Antonio, TX and Alexix Jarrett O'Yek of Schererville, IN; 2 nephews, Robert Vance Jarrett of Fort Myers, FL, and Leslie Joe Jarrett of Indianapolis, IN; other relatives and many friends.
