Lee Langford was born to Charles Robert and Lou Mabel (Dykes) Langford August 29, 1918 at Summerset, KY. and departed this life January 20, 2012 at Duncan, OK. at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 22 days. Coming from Kentucky at the age of 9, Lee's family settled northwest of Temple, OK and he attended Pleasant Hill rural school. He married Geneva Gertrude Winton on September 5, 1940 at Temple. They made their home east of Walters and then onto the Hulen community before eventually settling southwest of Walters. Lee was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Walters, teaching Sunday school for many years. He was a school bus driver and a member of the Walters Roundup Club. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, fishing, hunting and had been a honey bee keeper. In later years he still enjoyed going to local sale barns to buy his own cattle and riding around checking the cattle and crops. He always loved being around kids. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geneva in 1980; 4 brothers, Denton, Layton, Fred and Carl Langford; 2 sisters, Betty Taylor and Jessie Vantine. Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Langford and Paul Langford, both of Walters, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Farris Lindsey of Walters; 5 brothers, Joe Langford of Midland, TX, J.B. Langford of Lawton, Frank Langford of Blanchard, OK, Dale Langford of Alford, TX, and Robert Langford of Lawton, OK; 2 sisters, Charlene Fleming of Lawton and Linda Rhoads of Geronimo, OK.; 3 grandchildren, Dan Lindsey, Michael Lindsey and wife Tracy all of Walters, and John Lindsey and wife Michelle of Elgin; 5 great grandchildren, Jacie, Jenna, Lexie, and Avery Lindsey, and Lexie Baker; many other relatives and friends.
