Anna Mildred (Carpenter) Witt was born to John Thomas and Maggie Mae (Washburn) Carpenter on March 4, 1918 at Isadore, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on December 30, 2011, at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 26 days. Mildred grew up in the Isadore Farming Community in Southwest Oklahoma. She attended Hollister Schools before going on to Cameron State College and Central Oklahoma State University. She married James Bryan "Jim" Witt on September 10, 1938 and they were engaged in farming for many years in Cotton and Tillman Counties. Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church in Walters. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, playing tricks and teasing, playing cards, yard work and her flowers. To her, family was everything and she loved spending time with her parents. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, John and Maggie Carpenter; her brother, Johnnie Carpenter; a granddaughter, Renee McKinney Anderson; and a grandson, Brandon Paty. She is survived by a son, Bob Witt and wife Pam, Chickasha; a daughter, Tess McKinney and husband David, Albuquerque; grandchildren, DeeAnna (McKinney) and Trey Waring, Albuquerque, Kristin Witt, Lawton, Bryan Witt, Oklahoma City; great grandchildren, Maggie, Mitch and Trevor Waring, Albuquerque, Payton Calfy, Lawton, CheyLee Anderson, Albuquerque; other relatives and many friends.
