Clarence Clow "Bugs" Fletcher, Jr. was born to Clarence Sr. and Mary Lena (Snyder) Fletcher on March 29, 1929, at Walters, OK and departed this life southwest of Walters on December 26, 2011, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 27 days. Bugs grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS is in 1947. He then went on to graduate from Oklahoma A & M (OSU) in 1951 before entering the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict. As a young adult he worked for the family implement company and for the Oklahoma State Highway Department. He eventually went to work for Pearson Funeral Home in 1968, later known as Wyatt and eventually Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, retiring in December 2006 after 38 years. He was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church serving in various capacities and a longtime active member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed people, sending cards for special occasions, history, spending time with his family, attending reunions, reading the newspapers and Time Magazine. He was faithful to attend the OSU Homecoming for many years, mainly to visit his fraternity brothers. He was named Citizen Emeritus 2008 by the Walters Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and 2 brothers, Russell and Guy Fletcher. He is survived by 3 sisters-in-law, Corella Fletcher of Walters, Irene Fletcher of Oklahoma City and June Fletcher of Edmond; a niece and nephew, Terri Hooper and husband John of Walters and Bruce Fletcher of Lawton; a great niece and nephew, Michelle Gipson and husband Jeffrey of Lawton and Bryce Hooper of Walters; a great-great niece and nephew, Aubrey and Jeffrey Clay "Deuce" of Lawton; other nieces and nephews, Cynthia Glidewell, Kim Fletcher, Bill and Pat Nedbalek, Les and Tonya Nedbalek, Johnny and Ranae Riter.
