Elmer Lee "Pop" Jarvis was born to Walter Lee and Laura Mae (Wright) Jarvis on July 19, 1921 at Atoka, OK and departed this life on November 30, 2011 at Duncan, OK, at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 11 days. Elmer grew up at Atoka until his early 20's, moving with the family to Tipton, OK, where he worked in the cotton fields for a couple of years before settling in Cotton County. He met Margaret Ann Fietz while working for her dad and they were married on March 31, 1947 at Walters. Elmer operated heavy equipment for Cotton County 20 plus years and also did heavy equipment work in Lawton for T&G, and also Harvey Jenkins. Through the years he and Margaret were also engaged in farming and operated a hay baling business. Elmer enjoyed fishing, farming, taking care of the cows, spending time with the grandkids and his dog "Minnie". He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Jarvis; his parents; a daughter, Kathy Ann Weatherly; and a grandson Jeremy "Bubba" Jarvis. Also preceding him were 4 brothers, Walter, Clarence, Grady and Roy Jarvis, and a sister, Edna Hale. Survivors include two sons, Gary Jarvis of Walters and Don Jarvis and wife Linda of Edmond, OK; 2 brothers and their wives, John and Grace Jarvis of Carnegie, OK, Elton "Chub" and Stephanie Jarvis of Okmulgee, OK; 2 sisters and their husbands, Jean and Melvin Robling of Hilliard, FL, Liz and J.D. Jennings of Lawton, OK; 7 grandchildren, Shane Jarvis and wife Kristen of Cassoday, KS, Chris Jarvis and wife Nancy of Chickasha, OK, Juli Brenton and husband Mike of Edmond, OK, Jeremiah Jarvis of Edmond, OK, Robert Weatherly, Scott Weatherly, and Michael Weatherly; 9 great grandchildren, Hesston and Parker Jarvis, Kouper and McKenna Jarvis, Natili and Jeremy "Scooter" Brenton, Dacia, Megan and Austin Weatherley; a great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn; other relatives and many friends.
