Dottie Christine (Dyer) Johnson was born to Charlie Harvey and Lula Caroline (Cribbs) Dyer on January 21, 1917 at Vernon, TX and departed this life at her home in rural Comanche, OK on November 22, 2011 at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 1 day. Dottie grew up at Vernon, TX, until moving with her family at the age of 10 to Hasting, OK, where she graduated from high school in 1935. She married Raymond Preston Johnson on January 13, 1938 and they made their home at Amarillo, TX where Dottie worked at a Bomb factory. They soon returned to Hastings where the first of two girls, Karen, was born. They soon made a moved to Shawnee, OK where their daughter Myrna was born. They would move back to Hastings and eventually moved about 8 miles north of town before settling into their current home in the Corum Community around 1962. Dottie was a homemaker, but also worked at the Hagger slacks factory in Temple from 1958 to 1978 and the family was engaged in farming and ranching as well. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Temple. She enjoyed doing yard work, sewing and other handwork, reading and watching Dallas Cowboys football. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 24, 1980; her daughter Karen Lewis; her sister, Doris Ruth Houchins; 2 brothers, William "Bill" Dyer and Charles Dyer; 2 grandchildren, Monty Hart and Cory Myers; and 2 great grandchildren, Shayna Potts and Dylan Ray Lewis. Survivors include a daughter Myrna Arlene Myers of Comanche, OK; a son-in-law, Tab Lewis of Hastings; 7 grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Lewis, Breck Lewis, Marty Kent Hart, Kelly Renee Griggs, Sherry Leanne Hunt, Zane Ray Myers and Justin Linc Myers; 13 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
