Shirley passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas. Her body was willed to Texas Tech University Medical Center. Shirley was born August 14, 1938 in Walters, OK to Tine and Laverda (Cooper) Mustain. She was baptized in the Temple Church of Christ on April 25th, 1954. She graduated from Temple High School in May 1956 and soon married Edward Sims on Dec. 15th, 1956, in Lawton, OK. They lived on a farm northeast of Geronimo. They divorced in 1993 and she moved to Lubbock to live with her sister, Marie. Shirley is survived by her best friend Wayne Thompson of Lubbock; two sons: Dale Sims and wife Ruth, and Gary Sims, all of Lawton; three grandchildren: Brandon and Kristina Sims, Tulsa and Jesse Sims, OKC.; 6 great-grandchildren: Caleb Cowen, Kevon Wood, Ariana Wood, Desiree Wood, Ashton Sims and Braxanne Sims, all of Tulsa; aunts Helen Taylor and Dorothy Pybus, cousins Neal Taylor, Thomas Newsom, Betty Clements, Ronald Cooper, Sandra Hill, James Mustain, Delbert Mustain, Tom Mustain and Harriet Mustain; nieces: Carolyn Fowler, Dorothy Mitchell, Phyllis Noblin, Denise Broadstreet, Tammy Balmain, Teresa Rye and Tara Ritter; nephews: Randy Grubb, Howard Grubb, Cecil Grubb, Dennis Grubb, Chad Price, Michael Powell and Russell Powell; along with a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Odessa Marie Pennington and Alla Mae Grubb.
