James Vincent Dowlen

James Vincent "Jimmy" Dowlen was born to VA and Mary Elizabeth (Noblitt) Dowlen on August 19, 1934, at Temple, OK and departed this life in Temple on September 11, 2011 at the age of 77 years and 23 days. Jimmy grew up at Temple where he made his home all his life. He married Lenora Inez (Roach) Cullen on November 4, 1963 at Lawton, OK. He worked as a custodian at the school for 18 years before being employed as a custodian at Memorial Hospital in Lawton for 13 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman for many years, and if he wasn't working he was watching TV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Ed Dowlen. Survivors include his wife of the home, Lenora Dowlen; a step-daughter, Reba Esing and husband Jeff of Little Rock, AR; a sister, Doris Ann Bressman and husband Lawrence of Lawton; a sister-in-law, Nelda Dowlen of Temple; 3 grandchildren, Neil Royal of Colorado, Keith Royal of Georgia and Nicholas Esing of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
