Longtime Duncan resident Margaret Jane (Reece) Sylvester went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 7, 2011, at Sterling House in Duncan. Services will be at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK, Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike McCord and Dow Pannell officiating. She was a District Manager for Tupperware, working for them many years. She also wrote poems all her life and had many of them published over the years. On her 88th birthday (at a St. Patrick's Day celebration), she quoted word for word the poem she wrote after her husband passed away. The title of the poem was "Alone but Not Alone". She was born March 17, 1923 in Temple, OK to Estella (Martin) Reece and Charlie Andrew Reece. She married Fredrick Lloyd Sylvester on May 14, 1938 in Temple, OK and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2002. Survivors include children Dalorice and husband Wylie Fuller of Duncan, Fred Eugene and wife Louise Sylvester of Cleburne, TX, and Jaron and wife Darenda Sylvester of Oklahoma City; she is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Coffer of Duncan and Barbara Moy of Boone, NC; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and husband; a daughter, Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Amey; 5 sisters, Francis Tabbytite, Charlot Witt, Louise Sylvester, Alene Moorehead and Billie Jean Larson; a brother, Charles Allen Reece; 2 grandsons, Kevin Sylvester and Todd Mayer. Pallbearers will be Randy Sylvester, Mark Sylvester, B.J. Raeford, Mike McCord, Dow Pannell and Rick Hickenbottom. Honorary Pallbearer, Cecil Anderson.
