Gloria Joyce Barbe

Gloria Joyce (Montgomery) Barbe was born to Claude Everett and Hazel Parnell (Jackson) Montgomery at Hastings, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK on August 28, 2011 at the age of 70 years and 11 days. Joyce grew up in the Corum, OK, area. She married Wayne Roy Barbe on September 6, 1958 at Wichita Falls, TX and to the union 2 children was born. They made their home in the Walters and Duncan areas before settling at Lawton in 1968. She worked in housekeeping and as a nurse's aide at Cotton's Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Lawton. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friend, especially the grandkids and her dog Doddie. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a son, Brent Dwayne Barbe of Lawton, OK; a daughter, Tammy Joyce Adams and husband Robert of Senoia, Georgia; a brother Danny Ray Montgomery of Bridgeport, TX; Ineta Roe of Wichita Falls, TX; 7 grandchildren, Amy Barbe, Brandon Barbe, Chase Barbe, Brice Barbe, Robert Adams III, Adams Mallory and Morgan Adams; 4 great grandchildren, Marcus Brown, Mariah Brown, Jonathan Clark and Payton Barbe; other relatives and many friends.
