Gwen Ann Collier

Gwen Ann (Jackson) Collier was born to Charles Douglas and Allene Joan (Revell) Jackson on February 24, 1940 at Lawton, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK, on August 22, 2011 at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 29 days. Gwen grew up at Walters, graduating from WHS in 1958. She had married Billy Don Collier on September 24, 1955 at Temple and to the union 3 children were born. The couple made their home in Duncan and eventually moved to Plainview, TX where they raised their family. They later moved to Lubbock and Gwen would eventually return to Walters in 1992. She was a homemaker and also worked as a bank bookkeeper for several years. She enjoyed fishing, bingo and Braves baseball. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt and uncle Bobbie and Merle Spence; her companion and best friend, Billy Don Collier; and her brother Billy Carl Gunn. Survivors include 2 daughters, Susan Collier of Lubbock, TX, Jackie Calkins and husband Ronnie of Walters; a son, Gary Collier and wife Kim of Walters; a special friend, Norma Gonzales of Lubbock, TX; 7 grandchildren, Michael Lewis, LaWana Thorne, Jennifer Collier, Shawn Collier, Justin Calkins, Katie Collier and Victoria Mojica; 9 great grandchildren; her 4 legged babies, Star, Jinjer, Sweetie and Callie Mae; other relatives and many friends.
