Henry George "Hank" Lewis was born to John Sterling and Bessie (Mixa) Lewis on June 21, 1927, southwest of Geronimo and departed this life on August 5, 2010 at his home in Cache, OK at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 15 days. Hank grew up in rural Geronimo. He married Betty Jean Carver on June 30, 1950 at Lawton, OK and to the union 3 children were born. They made their home near Geronimo until moving to Lawton in 1959 where he worked as a sub-contractor for numerous home builders in the area. He eventually made his home at Cache in the late 1990's. Through the years he was engaged in farming and ranching, enjoyed woodworking and collected coins in later years. Hank was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Thelma Stewart and Elma Frazier; and a brother, John R. Lewis. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Carolyn Lewis of Montgomery, TX, Stanley and Diane Lewis of Lawton, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Neil Andrews of Benbrook, TX; 4 brothers and their wives, Bill and Dorothy Lewis of Lawton, Russell and Margaret Lewis of Geronimo, Harvey Lewis of Oklahoma City, Arthur and Wanda Lewis of Geronimo; 2 sisters, Betty Kriz and Margie Schlapbach both of Lawton; 4 grandchildren, Brian Lewis and wife Debbie of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jennifer Gilliland and husband Brian of Bartlesville, OK, Andrew Lewis of Springfield, MO and Whitney Lewis of Tulsa, OK; 4 great grandchildren, Blake Henry and Hope Lewis of Salt Lake City, Luke and Kelsey of Bartlesville, OK; a special nephew, Stephen Kriz; many other nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
