Rudell Estelle (Swanson) Oldham was born June 19, 1919 in rural Stephens County, OK to Minnie and Kyle Swanson and departed this life in rural Walters, OK, on August 2, 2011. She attended Stephens County School at Empire graduating in 1937. She received a Teachers Certificate from the State of Oklahoma and taught elementary grades at Allendale. She married Ernest Henry Oldham on September 17, 1938 at Lawton. She served as election judge for Comanche County for 50 years and worked at Geronimo Public Schools as secretary form 1953 to 1986. She was a member of Geronimo First Baptist Church serving as Sunday School teacher, nursery worker and served meals at Falls Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, her brother Raymond Swanson, her son-in-law Mason Lee Childers and her grandson William James Wells. Survivors include a son Stan Oldham and wife Vera of Walters; her daughter Linda Childers of Van Buren, AR; a brother, Arlen Swanson of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Wells and husband Evan of Caloundra Australia, Melinda Arnold and husband Eddy of Alma, AR, Mason Childers, Jr. of Van Buren, AR, Jason Oldham and wife Breezie of Cache, OK, and Austin Oldham of Walters; 10 great grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Katie Childers, Whitney Childers, Lindsay Arnold, Henry Wells, Madelyn Oldham, Jack Oldham, Sam Wells and Geoffrey Oldham; special family friend, Melva Leveille of Geronimo; other relatives and many friends.
