Wayne Sherman King was born to Sherman and Golda (Mueller) King on September 30, 1944, at Hobart, OK, and departed this life in Lawton, OK, on July 10, 2011, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 10 days. Wayne grew up on a farm south of Cordell. He graduated from Cordell High School in 1962, and attended Southwestern at Weatherford for 2 years. He then enlisted in the US Army Reserves for 2 years. He married Della Sue Strutton on June 25, 1966, at Bessie, OK. To this union 2 daughters were born. He farmed in the Cordell area for several years and was a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent in Cordell. Wayne moved his family to Walters in 1981, and had the Farm Bureau Agency here until he retired in 2001. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Walters. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Sue of the home, 2 Daughters, Kellie Haskins of Walters, OK, and Kara & her husband Aaron Gamble of Choctaw, OK; 2 Sisters, Mary Shulte of Las Vegas, NV, and Carolyn King of Oklahoma City; 4 Grandchildren, J.D. Haskins, Cody Haskins, Amber Edie and Austin Edie; 1 Great Granddaughter, Darian Haskins; 13 Nieces and Nephews, Vickie Bierstedt, Susan Schmitz, Debbie Winterfield, Leah Anthony, David Strutton, Rodney Strutton, Johnny Phelps, Jory Phelps, Cooper Strutton, Shawn Strutton, Scott Strutton, Matthew Strutton, and Mark Strutton; Other relatives and may friends.
