Loretta Charlene (Knightstep) Simpson was born to Herbert Reid and Mary Ethel (Sullivan) Knightstep on August 5, 1940 at Sugden, OK and departed this life in Lawton, OK, on June 30, 2011, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 25 days. Loretta grew up in Southwest Oklahoma attending various schools before graduating from Walters High School in 1958. She married Kenneth Simpson on October 11, 1958 at Randlett, OK. They made their home southwest of Walters where they were engaged in farming. She eventually moved to town in 2001 following Kenneth's death in 1999. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed working outdoors, doing crafts, collecting dolls, traveling, and cooking for the entire family plus whoever else Kenneth drug in. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Sassy Simpson, her brother John and her infant sister Geraldine. Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Carrie Simpson of Burkburnett, TX, Kent and Alice Simpson, Kevin and Marίa Simpson all of Walters; 3 brothers and their wives, James and Sharon Knightstep of Lewisville, TX, Cecil and Betty C. Knightstep of Boise, ID, Doy and Jerrie Ann Knightstep of Krum, TX; Coy and Joe Farquhar of Ft. Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad & Stephanie Simpson, Chase Simpson, Taylor & J.T. Hoover, Shannon & Erin Simpson, Travis Simpson, Kesto and Ashli Simpson, Kody &Jami Simpson, Joshua Simpson, Kelly & Gary Griffin, Bobby & Ashley Shortt, III; 20 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
